120th Anniversary
Join the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in celebrating the past 120 years and looking forward to the next 120 years.
On January 1, 1901, the University's first President Edward Stephens planted 40 live oak seedlings on what was then a three-year-old Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute’s campus. These oak trees grew to become an enduring symbol of the University’s trust in the future. As the University embarks on new initiatives and goals, supporters are asked to invest in the University Annual Fund and the next 120 years. The University Annual Fund meets the greatest needs of the University by supporting student success, campus sustainability initiatives, and career readiness.
