Join the UL Lafayette College of the Arts as we host our annual Beaux Arts Ball on Friday October 19th at 7:00 p.m. The Beaux Arts Ball celebrates the artistic contributions of our students, faculty, and alums, along with raising important and much needed funds that support; Student scholarships, organizations, and recruitment. Additionally, funds raised help support Faculty Development, Faculty/Student Grants, Publicity for public performances, exhibits and other events that showcase the College.

The College of the Arts at UL Lafayette is proud to announce and honor the late Raymond Goodrich as our 2019 SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award.  Raymond Goodrich’s passion for music and life was evident from the moment you met him. Born in New Iberia, Raymond was exposed early to the joys of music as a young band student. Raymond was with Lafayette Music Company since 1965, working his way up to the top and eventually purchasing the business with his wife, Karen, in 1977. Raymond made it a priority to support and foster music education at every level in the Acadiana region. In addition to his vast community service, Raymond created seven endowed scholarships to fund music education for deserving music students at UL Lafayette. Those scholarships have grown through the years and have assisted nearly 150 plus students with more than $400,000 dedicated scholarship dollars. Lafayette Music Company continues to add to those scholarships annually through proceeds from its Louisiana Showcase of Marching Bands State Championships, launched by Raymond in 1989. Showcase has raised over $1 million dollars, toward improving music programs in Louisiana. Raymond joins the ranks of our previous SPARK honorees; A. Hays Town, Elmore Morgan Jr., Joe Stewart, George Rodrigue, Dicky Landry, Eddie Cazayoux, Herman Mhire, Ed Mathes and others.

This year’s theme is Black & White, and we are calling for one and all to support the UL Lafayette College of the Arts at our annual costume ball. Come in a costume and participate in our monochromatic masquerade or compete for best table decoration. However, you interpret the theme, bring a new friend and catch up with the old ones as we dance the night away.  Great music from the Big Band UL Jazz Ensemble, along with a delicious dinner served cocktail buffet-style. Additionally, we will also have our ever popular live and silent auctions at https://beauxarts.ggo.bid
