The University Honors Program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette hosts a student body of almost 1,000 bright, young minds, many of whom will be tomorrow’s leaders. Founded in 1975, the program is approaching its 40th anniversary and we wish to finish the building which was given to our program in 2001.
When we moved into Judice-Rickels Hall only two of the three floors were finished. Today, the third floor of our building remains unfinished and in some places open to the elements. It serves, temporarily, as storage space for other university departments.
Our students have taken it upon themselves to raise the funds to finish their beloved building. This would give us a new memorial library, a performance/learning room, a media center (especially valuable to our students in fllm and video) and much needed storage space.
Our hope began with a soirée to help fund the completion of the building and allow the students to really enjoy their “gift” – Judice-Rickels Hall – The Honors Program Building. The evening was a success and gave us the seed to begin our long journey. We hope you will help us by donating toward our dream. Any amount helps, you can donate as little as $15.00 if you wish or buy one of our rooms!
Thank you,
Julia C. Frederick
